North Scarle Bowls Club
Haven’t got a picture of the club and green yet so uploaded the White Hart Inn over the road from the club. A popular watering hole for members.
North Scarle occupies a pleasant location close to the River Trent.
The village is small and unspoilt, it has pleasant leafy lanes and a quiet High Street. Of its most picturesque aspects apart from the church, is a George V Post Box. This is still in use, but sadly has been built into a modern brick pillar. There is a mixture of pleasant houses and cottages with delightful gardens, the historic stone parish church, a church hall, a few shops and a pub -
Visitors to the village will note the excellent sports field, this offers the opportunity for tennis, bowling, cricket and football, and even has a pleasant children's play area.
Lying beneath the soft Lincolnshire skies, North Scarle is both peaceful and pleasant, it is within easy reach of Lincoln with its magnificent cathedral and museum, and is a short distance from the pleasant town of Newark-
The bowls club is a very friendly meeting place for villagers and some of us from further afield. The membership is small but we manage to play league games on most days and whilst standards are not always ‘Potters’ standard, competition is keen and we hold our own in the leagues. Always keen to attract new bowlers, we would welcome inquiries for membership.
If you would like to inquire about membership, please contact
